Men's Swimmers Add Three More All-American Second Team Honors

Hope College men's swimmers recorded three All-America Second Team performances during Day 2 of the NCAA Division III Championships on Thursday in Greensboro, N.C.

The points helped the Flying Dutchmen sit 21st out of 38 teams heading into Day 3 on Friday, March 22, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Hope finished 13th.

Senior Ben Catton (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS), junior Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian), freshman Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) and freshman Christian Hoeksema (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) clocked a time of 1 minute, 22.12 seconds during the consolation final.

In the 400 medley relay, the Flying Dutchmen placed 16th.

Catton, Kalkman, Eisenmann and Hoeksema posted a swim of 3:19.58.

In the 100 butterfly, Catton finished 16th after clocking a time of 48.59.

On Friday, Hope is scheduled to swim in three events: Kalkman in the 100 backstroke, and junior Christian Dunaitis (Commerce Township, Michigan / Detroit Catholic Central) in the 100 breaststroke and the 800 freestyle relay.

Prelims start at 10 a.m. and are followed by finals at 6 p.m.
