Men's Swim Qualifies in Two Events for Day 4 Finals at NCAA Championships

Four Hope College men's swimmers have advanced to the Day 4 finals at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C.

The Flying Dutchmen will race in the 400-yard freestyle relay and the 100 freestyle. The final session of the four-day meet will begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on ncaa.com.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Hope finished 14th during Saturday's prelims and will race in the consolation final.

Junior Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS), senior Ben Catton (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian), freshman Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) and sophomore Henry Booker (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) recorded a time of 3:01.20.

Catton also qualified for the 100 freestyle consolation final after clocking a swim of 44.56 seconds during prelims.

In the 200 backstroke, Kalkman placed 29th during prelims by posting a time of 1:51.74.
