Justin Kneeshaw Named Recipient of MIAA Men's Swim/Dive Senior Impact Award

Hope College's Justin Kneeshaw has been selected as the 2024 MIAA's Senior Impact Award recipient for men's swimming and diving.

The business major and swimmer from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Northview HS) is the Flying Dutchmen's second recipient. Diver Kamaron Wilcox claimed the inaugural men's award in 2022.

The Senior Impact Award was created to recognize the men's and women's swimmers and divers that best exemplify the MIAA and NCAA Division III in both the classroom and their communities. Alma College's Marissa Luzac was selected as the women's recipient.

Throughout his involvement in various initiatives, Kneeshaw has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to making a positive impact in his community. As a volunteer with Latino Americans United for Progress in their Adelante program, Kneeshaw has helped support and guide first-generation students toward college opportunities.

Additionally, his participation in George F. Baker Scholars service programs, Residential Life activities, serving as a representative on Student Congress, and participating in the Sports Evangelism to Equip Disciples (SEED) trip to Costa Rica underscores his commitment to service and global citizenship.

Kneeshaw's contributions extend beyond the campus, as he fundraised for Dance Marathon, volunteered with Adopt A Soldier, and assisted ESL Chinese students as an aide in a local elementary school.

His dedication to managing the social media accounts for the Hope Swimming and Diving team showcases his multifaceted involvement and leadership skills. In the classroom, Kneeshaw boasts a grade-point average of 3.52.

"It's really difficult to put into words the impact that Justin has had on the program here," head coach Jake Taber '04 said. "He's everywhere, involved with and leading so many things on campus and setting a great example, especially for the younger guys, for how to manage your time and be successful in everything that you do.

"He wants the best for people. He's such a genuine person who makes those around him want to be a better human being."
