The Hope College men's swimming & diving team recorded eight winning performances during a 160-136 dual meet loss to Albion College on Saturday at Kresge Natatorium.
Junior Daniel Clyde of Ann Arbor, Michigan (Huron HS) clocked the fastest swims in three events: the 100-yard butterfly in 53.47 seconds, the 200 butterfly in 2:01.81 and the 200 individual medley in 1:59.45.
Sophomore Daniel Keith of Saline, Michigan (Saline HS) finished first in the 100 freestyle with a swim of 46.42 seconds and the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.40.
Clyde and Keith teamed with junior Seth Costello of Williamston, Michigan (Williamston) and freshman Nick Weigle of Grandville, Michigan (Grandville) for a winning 200 medley relay of 1:39.18.
Sophomore Grant Williams of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids) took first in 3-meter diving by posting a score of 314.85.
Senior Brian Simonich of Highland, Michigan (Milford) won 1-meter diving with a total of 299.55 points. Williams was runner-up with 293.10 points.
Sophomore Will Benner of State College, Pennsylvania (State College Area) placed second in both the 100 breaststroke with a swim of 1:04.36 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:08.07.
Freshman Liam Faber of Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Kentwood) was runner-up in the both the 200 breaststroke with a swim of 2:20.25 and the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.17.
Junior Jeff Engle of Kalamazoo, Michigan (Home School) came in second in the 1000 freestyle by recording a swim of 10:49.60.
Hope's next meet is Saturday, February 2 at home against Alma College.
