Diver Kamaron Wilcox and Swimmer Bailey Smith Earn MIAA Weekly Honors

Hope College swimmer Bailey Smith and diver Kamaron Wilcox have been chosen as Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Athletes of the Week.

Smith is claiming the men's swimming award for the second time this season and the third time in his Flying Dutchmen career.

Wilcox is the men's diver of the week for the first time this season and the third time in his Hope career.

Smith swept the long-distance freestyle events and recorded the third-fastest 1,000-yard freestyle in program history during a dual-meet loss to Calvin University on Saturday at Holland Community Aquatic Center. The sophomore of Battle Creek, Michigan (Lakeview HS) clocked in at 9:38.73 in the 1,000 freestyle and 4:42.63 in the 500 freestyle. 

Wilcox took first place in the 3-meter dive against Calvin with a score of 286.70 points. The junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central) also took third on the 1-meter board (245.10 points).
