Hope College swimmers hold three top seeds and four seconds in events heading into the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Championships this week.
Bailey Smith has the fastest times in the 500-yard and 1,650-yard freestyle. Conor East is seeded No. 1 in the 200 butterfly.
The MIAA Championships at Calvin University begin on Thursday, March 11 with 11 a.m. preliminaries and 5:30 p.m. finals.
After a day off, the meet concludes on Saturday, March 13 with 11 a.m. preliminaries and 5:30 p.m. finals.

Smith's top effort in the 500 freestyle is 4 minutes, 42.63 seconds. The sophomore from Battle Creek, Michigan (Lakeview HS) has gone 9:38.73 in the 1,650 freestyle.
East's best performance in the 200 butterfly is 1:54.00. The freshman from North Farmington, Michigan (North Farmington) is seeded third in the 200 individual medley at 1:57.50.
Jake Peterson is seeded second in the 200 individual medley at 1:57.04. He is a freshman from San Antonio, Michigan (Churchill).
Sophomore exercise science major Jack Muller of Queensland, Australia (Meridian State) has the No. 2 seed in the 100 breaststroke with a top swim of 59.60.
Freshman Ben Catton of Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian) holds the No. 2 seed in the 100 butterlfy at 50.59.
