Nine Men's Swimmers to Race in Six Events at the NCAA Division III Championships

The four-day meet begins on Wednesday, March 19, in Greensboro, North Carolina

The 25th-ranked Hope College men's swimming and diving team is sending nine swimmers to compete in six events at the NCAA Division III Championships later this month in Greensboro, N.C.

The Flying Dutchmen will race in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200 freestyle and four relays: 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 400 medley and 800 freestyle.

The four-day national championships run Wednesday-Saturday, March 19-22, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Sophomore computer science major Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark HS) can swim the 100 freestyle after a seed time of 1 minute, 37.90 seconds.

Eisenmann, an All-American in four relays as a freshman, also can race in all four relays.

Freshman Luke Newcomb (Brighton, Michigan / Brighton) can compete in the 100 breaststroke after posting a school-record 54.45 this season and being seeded 14th. Newcomb also can swim in the 400 medley relay.

Senior biology major Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) and freshman Josh Bordovsky (Hendon, Virginia / South Lakes) will race in the 200 freestyle, 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

Kalkman, a four-time All-American in relays, is competing at nationals for the second time.

Senior public accounting and business major Conner Halberg (Novi, Michigan / Northville), freshman Everett Cox (Sugar Land, Texas / Logos Prep) and freshman Joe Engle (Holland, Michigan / West Ottawa) can compete in the 800 freestyle relay. Halberg is competing at nationals for the first time.

Sophomore Christian Hoeksema (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian) can swim in the 400 freestyle relay.

Hoeksema, a two-time All-American, is making his trip to nationals.

Freshman George Marsh (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan / Seaholm) can race in the 200 freestyle relay.

The 200 freestyle relay holds the fifth seed at 1:19.92.

The 800 freestyle relay ranks 12th at 6:36.48.

The 400 medley relay is 14th at 3:15.62.

The 400 freestyle relay sits 16th at 2:59.71.
