Men's Swim Claims Two More All-America Performances, Caps Breakthrough at NCAA Championships

The Hope College men's swimming and diving team capped its most successful trip to the NCAA Division III Championships since 2009 on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C.

The Flying Dutchmen recorded two more All-America performances and finished 23rd out of 44 team-scoring teams with 34 points.

It is Hope's highest place at nationals since the Flying Dutchmen took 17th in 2009.

Hope ended the four-day meet at the Greensboro Aquatic Center with seven All-America Second Team performances, including two on Saturday.

Senior Ben Catton (Holland, Michigan / Holland Christian HS) topped the Flying Dutchmen during the consolation finals on Saturday with an 11th-place time in the 100-yard freestyle of 44.51 seconds.

Catton also swam the second leg of the 15th-place 400 freestyle relay.

Junior Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian), Catton, freshman Graham Eisenmann (Ozark, Missouri / Ozark) and sophomore Henry Booker (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) posted a swim of 3:01.19.
