2023 HOPEYs Awards Nominees Announced

The annual program will be held on Monday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.

The annual HOPEYs celebration of Hope College Athletics will be held on Monday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at DeVos Fieldhouse.

The event is open to the public. Admission is free.

Award nominees in 17 different categories have been announced. Award recipients will be announced during the program, along with the Karen Page Courage, Bunko Service Award and H-Club "Hope for Humanity" awards.

Click on the links below to read about each HOPEYs nominee. Presented to an athlete (sophomore and above) that has made the best or most significant breakthrough in their sport during the year. Presented to the freshman or transfer that made a significant impact within their sport during their first year on the team.  Presented to an athlete who has re-emerged on the field of play after overcoming adversity in the previous season due to an injury, illness, or personal hardship.  Presented to the team that played the most impressive game or had the most impressive win in a given year.  Presented to an athlete who anchors the team, inspiring their teammates to train and perform at their best.  Recognizing the teams that won the MIAA Regular Season or MIAA Tournament Championship game in the past year. Presented to a junior or senior who demonstrates the true essence of being a student-athlete and embodies the Division III motto of Discover, Develop, Dedicate.  This student-athlete is in high academic standing (minimum GPA of 3.5), plays a significant role on the team, and is involved in the Hope and Holland community.  Presented to the female athlete deemed to be the most exceptional during the year. Presented to the team deemed to be the most outstanding in a given year, finishing in the top of the NCAA Division III within their respective sport.
